Broken Winged Bird
As I gaze upon snow covered ground
I see white, without a sound
I know you never got to see me
In the way that was meant to be
I’ve tried to say a few things
Breaking silence with my wings
Only to be left with regrets
And things created when we met
Reactions from the heart, not seen
Not meant to hurt or be mean
Yet, the wind blows the smiles away
With no chance to explain or stay
Judgements rule sometimes unfair
Without a chance to repair
Misunderstandings, words unheard
Silence stings, like a broken winged bird
