The style of chair he sits on each day, Says a lot about the person he is, The beautifully gilded, once loved, wooden chair, Says a lot about how he has lived, Caring for things that once were brand new, Caring for things that are broke, Seeing the years of love in something, The maple, white pine, and the oak, And he sees the love of “used” in us all, The view behind each of our walls, He loves to live with our imperfect world, With our damaged and fragmented flaws, Those beautifully gilded broken down chairs, Just like our life journey mistakes, He loves to feel those years we have lived Breaking down our emotional gates.
