Broken Peace

The calm is broken at the college by the sounds of fighting Tow women "go at it " A crowd gathers round Screams are heard and tumult has ensued But calmer voices soon prevail Security comes and the combatants are taken away The peace this college has come to know was disturbed by this incident Let us find peace, brothers and sisters So white, black, red and yellow can learn and gain strength form their academic efforts and live under a canopy of peace and mutual respect

Good thing for security. I'm no fan of college stories... A very intense situation. SKAT

I bet you see this kind of scene a lot in that big city, don't you? yes, let's hope for peace. If it can't happen in a neighborhood in our own cities, how can it happen in the world?

Yes, I do run into things like this at times. The incident in the poem is a real life one. I would like to think of the college I work at as kind of an oasis of peace in the city and hope a thing like that doesn't happen again. Matthew
