Broken Hearted, Gilded Cage
Now wilted and broken
Once in her prime though
She was really something
Wasn’t she –
Or don’t you remember
Looking back
She had it all –
She had passion
She was going to live her dreams
And nothing would
Stand in her way
Once in her day
She was really something
Seems so long ago
It was the time before
You tamed her
And made her yours
When was the last time
You looked into her eyes?
Look at her now
Reduced to a caged bird
You call this love?
Listen – can you really not hear it?
Day after day, night after night
Isn’t there something
Way deep inside you
That longs to set her free?
