Broken But Still Beautiful

Not a woman you’ll find in a magazine filters on a perfectly made up face; Much more comfortable in a pair of jeans carefree fit and a tear on the surface; Lines and freckles connect and tell a story, individuality fuses the light with the dark; Jagged edges come with the territory, zoom out and the vision becomes art; Confrontation answered with an uproar my past reminds me the glass is half full; Grit can make you shine like a centerfold, I am broken but I am still beautiful.

I enjoyed reading this lovely poem. I'll take grit over filter any day. Flawlessness is out. Individuality, imperfection, being true to yourself and the world to me is the definition of beauty. Broken but beautiful...
