Broken But Still Beautiful
Not a woman you’ll find in a magazine
filters on a perfectly made up face;
Much more comfortable in a pair of jeans
carefree fit and a tear on the surface;
Lines and freckles connect and tell a story,
individuality fuses the light with the dark;
Jagged edges come with the territory,
zoom out and the vision becomes art;
Confrontation answered with an uproar
my past reminds me the glass is half full;
Grit can make you shine like a centerfold,
I am broken but I am still beautiful.
