Notes About The Poem

Image: crack woman..by GatoBaratoDarwin on Deviant Art

Broken

I was already damaged when I met you
Somehow ...I thought you would help me mend
Amazing how I never noticed the cracks increasing
Amazing that, even though I cracked, I never broke

The cracks are harder to conceal now
...the pieces harder to keep in place
Tired. Weak. Worthless
When is it okay to let the cracks break
...when is it time to let the pieces fall
                                                  shattered

Provocative and full of emotions I think we've all had at some point. Some more than others... to that extent of just willing the cracks to finally break open. Xo

Profound verse. When is it time to let the pieces fall? Some never do let them fall and shatter. Like always, amazing write.

I am most grateful for your offer Pangie, you have such a giving heart. It is a memory of long ago, when the pain lasts long enough it tends to try to resurface. And as you so beautifully said, people like this are not alone. Sometimes, just sometimes, it helps when they realize they are not. Thank you Panagiota

You words cut deep to the bone F, and your soul seems to weep from the battle cry of the lost and broken. Praying that God sends an angel to you, to anoint your broken bones and heal them, Love and always, friendship, take care, xo

Congratulations on POTD. This is the first time I ever read a poem about a toxic relationship in such forceful, adamant words as you wrote in this poem. I like the direct simplicity that gets the point for the reader to digest.

Love has to be a place that YOU come from. We have to value yourself first and the other person second I have been down the same street. Do you have. I know that feeling of being worthless. You have to find the way for you to value who you are. I wish you the best …you can do it. I’ve done it.. it’s miraculous. Congratulations on being truthful that is great and poetry. you’re kind of poetry impresses me. I can relate to it so you see you’re already magical. *great honors on your POTD, Pangie

Pieces are cracked, but not broken. It takes a lot of strength to keep from falling apart. Although a heart is able to bear so much, no one can stay strong all the time. It's okay to shatter. When the time is right, the mending will begin. Congratulations Fj, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

Sad, but beautiful poem, Dear Poet. In a few words, you have touched many hearts. I liked the optimism in this line "Amazing that, even though I cracked, I never broke". My favourite pieces are usually short, but carrying profound thoughts. Congratulations on your POTD. Warm wishes ~Mala
