Autumn's Aria As crisp chill usurps the summer air Autumn flirts with every colored tree Coaxing with musical wind so fair... Fall leaves dance to death quite willingly, Spin in pirouettes so wild and free. As leaves with stunning colors now rest In a quilt to warm the earth below, These jewels arrayed to look their best Add such pleasure to sweet autumn's glow In the glory that her gifts bestow. Halloween will share with so much fun Kids adorned in costumes...scary, sweet, As the full moon's glow replaces sun From door to door they will trick or treat; Hear their laughter echo down the street. Rain rendezvous with wind's whistling choir; Joins in song as geese take southern flight In silhouette of harvest sunset's fire. Pumpkins mirror moon's enchanting light 'Till dawn displays pristine hoarfrost bright. 8-26-18 Bring on Fall Contest. ~First Place~ Sponsor Francine Roberts

Autumn, Autumn, sweet dear Autumn. It has come round again. Hi Connie, an excellent Autumn write from your pen. The words playfully paint Autumn visions in my mind. I close my eyes and I am there. So vivid the images that my heart sings with Autumns Joy. Another Autumn poem to enter my faves. Wonderful work Connie. Have a wonderful wednesday. Hugs....Mike. XX

I am sorry you missed the deadline...I hate it when I do that. The ads popping up are keeping me away because I can't read or comment on the poems. They may have fixed it. We shall see tomorrow. : )

I read that the English Quintain has no set measure or foot. The example has some eight lines or ten or more. I changed it anyway Andrea. Thank you for your sweet comment. : )

I look forward to autumn, too. It is the waning of the year and brings with it football and colorful trees. You capture the mood well in your fine ode! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

Connie, I've read many poems about the autumn season recently and this one tops them all! I expect to see it at the top of the winners' list and I'll be disappointed if it isn't! Thanks for your glowing comments re The Old Wagon Wheel. I love to write about the old west and I wish I could come up with more of them. Your support and encouragement mean so much to me - Bob
