Brilliant
This August night filled
with a myriad of stars,
showers set our sky ablaze
crowning the sunset
and draping the coming night
with candlelight flickerings
The night falls silent
shining down over the earth
Assembling in formation
Are galaxies from long ago
While all the world is sleeping
Watching us until dawn’s light
