Breaths of Romance
R hythm of breaths flows through me as you sleep
O bserving this quietude like a buoyant river
M eandering far past the waves of dreams--
A nd I gaze at how your chest rises and falls
N ear my fluid arms… a midnight bidding me closer
T o dare awaken the stars within your eyes:
I n this rare moment, my lips but gently hushes,
C harmed by the pause of love’s afterglow.
