Breathless Night, Endless Sorrow
The moon hangs heavy in bruised silent tear,
Upon the velvet cloak of breathless night.
My soul, a ship lost in a sea of fear,
Doth founder in the absence of your light.
Each shallow gasp, a memory that stings,
Of laughter lost, a touch I can't reclaim.
The shadows lengthen and the night bird sings
A mournful dirge, whispering your sweet name.
This aching void where once your presence burned,
Now chills me to the bone, a frozen tomb.
My heart, a captive, hopelessly has yearned,
To break these chains and flee this heavy gloom.
But breathless I remain with tears that fall,
Lost in the night beyond your loving call.
