i listen to every piercing word that explodes from your mouth how can your lips form such hurt? how can your heart be so black? your eyes so blind? i look straight ahead taking in everything you say everything you yell i hold in my tears pressure behind my eyes amount to so much pain i hold back words i hold in the truth they would just go by misunderstood or ignored so i keep them to myself i can barely breathe but i try i try to stay calm i try not to crumble you don't have that power you leave silence at last one tear falls i close my eyes and breathe I'm still here
