Brains and Minds
Brains don’t shine among the stars;
yet minds are wide awake in their starry cosmos.
We sense the spark of a bright-eyed watcher
observing our disorderly dreams,
a self tied only to the whirring brain
by a detached attention.
That 'I' who recalls our reality,
our truth before the brain
spoke out of turn for us.
We feel the infinity of it
calling us out to be
what brains can never see.
