Born To Glow
Delivered from the womb,
out of the darkness
Infant eyes see a circle of light
for the first time,
not having any square root understanding
Babies struggle to upright walk
in the bosom sight of the bright shining
Their first movements in life,
they crawl on the ground like a snake
Children learn to serpent talk,
how to quietly keep their dark thoughts
in the shadows hidden
Growing in pride,
those adolescent sly hearts
bask in the yellow light
Yielding their cold-blooded bodies
to the warm, hormonal heat
of fleshly desire
Thus, this is how it is
with juvenile understanding
Yet a spiritual awareness is planted
in the idle, closet minds
of the fad distracted
Reaching maturity offer crossroad choices:
A four-way stop,
showing paths of branching possibilities
Wrong or right ... up or down
Life-saving hours
spent on a decision sundial,
pointing to a golden dusk, or regret sunset
Most adults still don’t know,
they were born to die with a glow ...
Like sunflowers in a verdant meadow
Many have darkly chose to go
down the wide road
of idol, carnal error
That which wither the roots below
Sadly, a grave mistake made
not to follow the teardrop rainbow
Leading to the eternal, firmament glow
