Across the edges of the blue ridges Caressing the emerald pine and whispering Gentle thoughts through the birch Calming hearts with this mysterious touch From the fiery paintbrush of the Almighty Morning clings to the heart with a gentle sun Embracing the spirit with birdsong and hope Sensations of creation brought to life by the Inspirational serenity found within a dawn Light from above, sent down to stir glory Peaks and valleys stroke the azure skies With heavenly insights discovered in truth Inspired by soft teardrops lingering inside The one who knows the power of this promise Coloring the mountains hues of blue and purple Soothing embers of amber light breathe grace Through the limbs and branches that grow wild Creating a majestic peace within those who see Such amazing beauty confessing in a silent prayer The wonders of freedom that live there unaware Impressive elevations cling to the snowy clouds Capturing the still, small voice that lives there In the heavenly realms, where love is so pure True compassion thriving amid the musical winds Breathing out a promise of joy that will never end STRAND COMPLETELY NEW (18) ,any form, any theme Poetry Contest Sponsored by Brian Strand August 6, 2020

Enjoyed reading your work. It is nice and quiet in some areas of those mountains. I enjoy going into the mountainous areas and staying a few days for a short vacation from time to time. This work reads like a great contender to me. Sara

Several years ago I traveled through the Blue Ridge Mountains for the first time. How beautiful they are! You describe them perfectly and your poem has a sense of serenity that I appreciate. You have created many extraordinary images, Regina. Hope your outstanding poem does well in Brian's contest! Hugs, Carolyn
