i lay awake
with thoughts
of you

outside my window
a sullen moon
stands still
i lay awake
and wonder
i dare not
stir my fears
holding my breath
all but a shiver
in the silence
of the dark
in the dead
of night
i hold on
gently
to thoughts
of you
of us
