This morning, as dawn lifts her head
Smiling across my future
Preparing me for the moments
Which color my heart in kindness
Soft music caressing my spirit
As it lights up the present
With gentle inspiration, faith
Brightening my thoughts
And encouraging my dreams
Bringing me hope through distress
This morning, as sun flickers to life
Laughing at the misty gray
Relaxing my anxieties and delighting
Echoes of grace as she prays
For the light to whisper praises
On the promise of a new day
Filled with new plans, new chances
Optimism which embraces
Ideas, appealing to the senses
Playing in feathery possibilities
Guiding my reflections to believe
This morning, as light breathes joy
Shining pleasure through the twinkling
Rays of enchanted warmth
Fondling bare thoughts with affection
From the poetry that flows
In vibrant richness
Through the feelings that beckon
Refreshing, reviving
Mystifying wisdom, brilliant
Emotions on the luminosity
Of sparks ignited by virtue
And sensitivity that traces
The edge of silence
Melting every defense and worry
With shafts of subtle blushing
Sunlight which haunts the night
With its insight into hearts
Who know that only God’s love
Fills the sun with its radiant courage
Its dazzling luster
Satisfying every doubt
With a love that lights up the very air
Singing with praise for His blessings!
