Bless Me Indeed, Lord, Is My Earnest Prayer
Bless* me indeed, Lord, as Your child You’ve rescued from hell’s damnation
Praise be to You for securing me within Your gracious compassion
Keep me feasting in Your peace and joy of assured eternal salvation
As I pray that You help me love You with utmost devotion.
Bless me indeed, Lord, as Your heir You’ve granted divine inheritance
Praise be to You for guiding me by Your wisdom’s assistance
Keep me dwelling in Your plan enriched with virtuous importance
As I pray that You help me show my faith’s substance.
Bless me indeed, Lord, as Your saint You’ve cleansed from sins’ filthiness
Praise be to You for sanctifying me with Your purging forgiveness
Keep me beseeching Your pardon in my repentance-earnestness
As I pray that You help me pursue after holiness.
Bless me indeed, Lord, as Your redeemed, ordained unto Your stewardship
Praise be to You for molding me thru sovereign perfection-workmanship
Keep me walking upon Your paths of righteousness in my fellowship
As I pray that You help me bring to You my sacrifices’ worship.
Bless me indeed, Lord, as Your believer You’ve freed from religion’s fallibility
Praise be to You for guarding me with Your Word’s immutability
Keep me trusting Your promises, fighting doubt as well as any falsity
As I pray that You help me stand on Your truth’s authority.
Bless me indeed, Lord, as Your servant You’ve chosen to work for Your glory
Praise be to You for driving me to be empowered by Your Spirit’s victory
Keep me involving in Your purpose of spreading the Gospel story
As I pray that You help me bear fruits in Your ministry.
Bless me indeed, Lord, as Your follower You’ve abased from pride’s height
Praise be to You for leading me toward Your will and therein delight
Keep me seeking Your presence in my desire to do what’s right
As I pray that You help me shine in Your light.
*1Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
