Bleeds Down the Page

Sometimes there is a thin line Like mixing heartache with good times As the ink starts to bleed down the page Bringing memories of those we miss Like the taste of a sweet kiss That last forever throughout the years And all the tears that we cry Never seem to run dry As the puddles collect at our feet I remember once I was in love Like a hand in a warm glove Through the frost of a cold winters day But Sometimes love turns cold And the walls start to grow mold And the doors quite simply slam shut I swear I’ll never understand why The coat of his damn lies Seemed to be The only coat I could wear But I reckon that it’s all good It ended up, as it should And all the pieces just fell into place Every once in awhile I Think about you and smile And remember back when we were friends Home is a dear place In my heart you hold your grace And I reckon that you always will Because some places people belong Like the lyrics of a sad song And some pains, well they never seem to fade I reckon now you know it All the pain has made me a poet As the ink forever bleeds down the page -------------------------------------------------------------- Written awhile back for someone who holds a very dear place in my heart, regardless of all else. There are those people we meet in life that make such an enormous impact on us that changes us forever and we remember them when they are no longer with us...All the good times we once shared hold a place in our hearts and we cherish those memories. I have no doubt that you hold a special place in her heart as well...You have a gift that keeps on giving, you share yourself, your experiences, you pour out your soul and it's gold...Incredible lines, Outstanding poetry...Love Tyesha YF4L

You have captured the loving and painful memory of someone very special. Love the lines '...some places people belong...like the lyrics of a sad song..." how true and so beautifully written. Many excellent lines here. No doubt she holds you in her heart too. Bittersweet so often, the people we meet and lives we touch on our journey. Michael, thank you for your incredibly thoughtful comments. You seriously know how to put me on top of the world. Love you. Love, Shar
