Black To White
Forgive me Lord my lack of sight,
For seeing things in black and white.
From white to black in one quick blink;
I've mostly missed how others think.
Lone point of view, all I can see--
Comes from myself, oh perfect me.
No vivid tints or subtle hues,
Lends reason for what others do.
From black to white and back again,
How many times I test my friends?
I've viewed this world a mystery,
Blind to the vistas others see.
Now Lord I plead in humble prayer,
To help me see what's really there.
Please show the colors long concealed,
Another's viewpoints now revealed.
That I may see with sight renewed,
A world in shades of countless hues.
Include those colors I will hate:
Foul deeds that seal a bad man's fate.
As well as hues of love and grace,
My former blindness now erased.
Black to white and white to black
Please God restore those shades I lack.
