Black-Eyed Susan- I am called, quite hardy, one real tough fighting flower; was born in a lovely cottage garden years and years ago, surrounded by so many sweet and beautiful friends. There was Daisy, and Iris, Coral Bell, Primrose, and Violet, we loved swaying in the sun and we loved the bees; and butterflies who visited us everyday, but, my friends died one after another and I was left all alone. In fact, the cottage is gone now and the garden too, mighty trains roar past- but mostly it is just quiet; so, I went deep beneath the dark earth to wait, then, one day I peaked out- and decided to grow. _____________________________ September 2, 2017 Poetry/Personification/Black-eyed Susan Copyright Protected, ID 17-1151-464-0 (Edit) All Rights Reserved.
