Bird, sat high, on elm tree, gaily chortling, to himself in joy, bringing merry tidings, uplifting my fevered soul, and raising it to heaven's heights. The sun was shining in the far East, with an inviting ebullient brilliance. From winter freeze to summer's steady warmth, I stepped out to bask in bright sunshine. How like a bird, I yearn to soar, singing in ' full throated ease', dining on ripe berries, with aerial feats, soaring higher, wishing to, float in, joy.

This read was a nice tribute to birds, though I suspect that they work hard all year. I enjoyed the summer high notes.

Dear poetess friend Valsa, You've written an incredible poem with wonderful metaphoric layers from the first to the last line. A strong desire for freedom, joy, and the uplifting power of nature. It contrasts the joy associated with the arrival of spring and the freedom from winter's constraints, implying a journey from despair to elation. Welcome back, I hope you had a good trip, and best wishes for the contest.
