Big Bang
BIG BANG
a huge sign falls from the sky
with a big bang, falls
on chicken little’s head,
there’s no afterlife it says
she shakes away the stars,
gathers her wits
and wonders about signs,
and wanders
the countryside, looking
for truth
she finds truth eating corn
on the cob, boiled and buttered
and wonders how she knew
to look for truth and
wonders why she wonders at all
all this came after the fall
