Beyond the Rubicon
The die is cast, the ship has left the shore,
No turning back from paths we now embrace.
The whispered doubts we felt just moments more,
Now fade to echoes in this destined space.
A silent click, a gate forever sealed,
The old familiar distant, out of sight.
What lies beyond, as yet remains concealed,
As day's last glow gives way to endless night.
No backward glance can mend what's come to pass,
The bridge is burned, the Rubicon is crossed.
Our former selves, reflected in the glass,
Are fading now, irrevocably lost.
So face the dawn, whatever it may bring,
For in this moment, new beginnings spring.
