Beyond the Last Mile
At the edge of life’s horizon floating on fate free
the new sun arose with color spectrum spree,
my lone languid life woke up and promised me,
someday it would sail me across the stormy sea.
Reach my dream’s charming island I’d like to be,
where I would absorb the twilight patina in glee,
and soak the soul with stardust glow of ecstasy,
but this would never happen, I couldn’t foresee.
Life didn’t keep its promise discarding my plea,
I couldn’t rise from the fallen sky’s dark debris,
with the dusts of despair I find the dreams flee
beyond the last mile of journey, the path I see.
