When skies are grey and clouds are weeping,
Lightning hurls its fiery thorn,
Reach for the stars behind the clouds,
There shines a sun beyond the storm.
Beyond the clouds the sun is reigning
In its ceaseless majesty,
Clouds will pass and then at last
The sun will be set free...
Just to shine on you, to light your darkened road,
To warm you and comfort you, and help you bear your heavy load.
When all our days are dark and lonely,
When our nights are filled with fear,
If our tomorrows cast anxiety,
Our yesterdays shed a tear,
If our hearts are cold and rainy,
When the storms are hard to bear,
Let’s look beyond today's dark clouds,
The Son is waiting there...
Just to smile on us, to light our darkened road,
To warm us and comfort us, and help us bear our heavy load.
Beyond the clouds unfolds a sunrise
That would not be half as beautiful without the clouds.
“They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30)
