Better

You keep reminding me of my deficiency of who I am and who I oughta be Those great expectations that haven’t been met I should already be there but I haven’t gotten there yet I feel your disappointment I feel you wondering why You keep saying “Ricky, why don’t you try?” So I stop falling in and out of you My mind can’t be tied to words that aren’t true My freedom experiment I now know I’m enough It wasn’t really about me You downloaded your stuff I think of you sometimes hoping you’re okay Still I’m glad that I left things are better this way

You need to be appreciated and affirmed. I'm sorry Ricky had to go through what he did but he's brought healing with his words to others.

Thanks Johnson. This is speaking about my relationship with my dad. If I had not escaped I would surely have been gone a long time ago.

If people don't please you why bother with them, my heart stopped for a moment because our younger son is Ricky - he is the light of my life! Both Ricky's are very wise! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Cutting edge slam Poetry, Reux. Living up to another persons, 'Ideal' of personality perfection is a hard ball-and-chain existence. Letting go is sweet freedom, no doubt. Braveheart poetry is a beautiful read. Love and joy always.

Powerful poem, Richard. I think of it as: 'Anatomy of a Split.' Bravo, Gershon

A poignant dialogue with emotions--that speaks for many heartbreaks. Sometimes it really is better this way--well said, Richard.

Sometimes down the line you realise that it wasn't meant to be and parting is the best way for all. We all deserve to be happy. Tom

Well penned, Richard. We can all relate. Bad relationships just postpone the upcoming good one... yet we all tend to try to prolong them. We're too often suckers for punishment.
