Beneath the Canopy
I gaze at it with an awe struck heart...
it seems so unrealistic...
a marveling and ever-changing painting before me,
a neatly kept row of old houses,
just above the rooftops,
and through the ventricle system of a large oak,
spreads the most exquisite pallet of color,
first bright flushed flamingo pink, then,
fiery tangerine, captivating coral,
seductive salmon, fuchsia, into a raspberry rose,
mauve, and oh so pleasant plum, sheer lavender leads
me to amethyst....OH NO ... wait...
.....it's as if it has stopped....
engulfed under dark grey lilac skies,
I wonder,
what will tomorrow bring?
