Beloved Pet

It was a beautiful Spring day, the sky was blue with a bright yellow sun. As we drove down the back roads, pretty flowers were in every yard. The boys felt I needed a new friend, we were off to find it. Our search lead us to, an animal secure shelter. I was ready to give in, but it had to be a small lap dog. As we walked and looked, there was no match to my request. Then there she was, not small by any means. We took her for a walk around the grounds, then papers had to be signed. Guess my new lap dog was only thirty pounds, but she was definitely sent from heaven. My new angel, wearing a pretty fur coat. Date Written: 3/16/2023 True Story "3 Place"

Angel in a fur coat indeed Paula! Paddy is a little over 30lbs and just fits in our laps - sometimes. He never stays long! I am so happy your found your "angel!" Congratulations on your win. Blessings.

Thanks for your note and for your congratulations. Glad you like my true story write. I wanted a lap dog and 30 lbs is a little much. She loved being in my lap or should I say half sofa~half lap. My Angel in her fur coat has been gone for years but remembered daily. She was one in a million. Guess you understand. Have a blessed day..................

I had Chihuahuas. They both died so I had to get a new dog. My new one is part Chihuahua and part Rat Terrier(more of this breed) and she weighs 13 pounds but is heavy as lead. She does not like to sit in laps but she has so many good traits that it makes up for what she does not have. Thanks for sharing your story in poetic form. I am glad you found your match. Thanks for your note. This true story is from many, many years ago. She has since passed. So Sad. That year she was my Easter gift. No pets here where I now live. Your dog sounds cute. Mine loved being on my lap at 30 lbs. Not a lap dog size for sure. Have a blessed day/week......................
