Bell

Ziket series:

When birds sing, they do not care
how we judge their voice

When children dance, they are free of
judgment's tyranny

Inside you a poetic bell
let it ring

Ziket: two-line poem form invented by Dr. Zik
1st line is 1-8 syllables
2nd line is 1-5 syllables
It is not in the list of form options, so I selected 'free verse'

Hey John this is a lovely Ziket and it is so true about birds and children and even our poems as adults, it make us happy when we put our words on paper sometimes though, others think differently and interpret the poems of others and read them from a much more different perspective to what you or I or anyone else actually meant in the poem. Be well John, hope to hear from you soon hugs, blessings Jennifer

A short form of poetry, John, but you've made it pay off with these liberating lines of freedom. Let freedom ring! Bill p.s. Good luck in the contest my friend.

John, I just had to l look up the origins of the ziket. Fascinating! "...a popular form of unrhymed American and Pakistani poetry.." Since joining Poetry Soup I've discovered and learnt about so many poetic forms. Good luck in Line's contest. Cheers - Gary

John this makes me feel like expressing myself without a care in the world. To let others see what is reflective of me. True Expression given to the reader. A clever write expressed here my friend... Thank you for sharing John...

Ok, I'm intrigued now, what, actually, is a ziket? I went to the PS types of poems but nothing is listed under 'Z' - but aside from that, this is like a ballerina, lilthe and graceful, a petite pearl - hope it's a winner for you~

Michelle, thanks for asking, I went back and added a brief explanation. It's not in the list, so I use free verse. I appreciate the sweet comment ~ John
