Oh how I hate the winter where my limbs are exposed and seen I just adore the springtime; I wear my dress of emerald green Draping myself in lush foliage, not an inch of body you can see Until warm winds of autumn arrive and begin to undress me Then I start to shiver as my gown of golden leaves falls away Leaving me cold and naked until spring returns again one day Originally written on 08~22~15 N/A In personification contest finalised on 10/19/16 I worked so hard on my personification Then looked at the list with consternation Saw the sponsor gave it an N/A Perhaps he’d had a tough day …. I now look to Constance for mitigation! 11~11~16 5 Line rhyme for Broken Wings Take the dagger from my heart please 3 Contest

Jan, terrific personification....I could see and feel the "goose bumps" on the tree limbs. Wonderful portrait of the naked lady.

Jan, CONGRATULATIONS on your win in my contest with this wonderful Personification poem, this is a favorite form of mine, and you did it beautifully, you captured the feelings of the tree and I like your images too. In Canada our birch trees wear gowns of white in the wintertime, well done ~

I really liked this personification poem, Jan. It was smartly written w/a touch of wry humor. Forgive the pun, but it was a very personable poem. It was a great poem though. Hope you win, friend. Much love to you.

We have a 100 year old cooper beech in our yard. Just yesterday, the leaves were coming down like rain. The colors are always miraculous and can be seen through many of our windows. It's a real gift and your poem reflects that. Since I am in NY, I expect I will be showing up at Trump Tower to protest in the near future. I decided to wait until he is in office before doing that because I don't want to seem unfair. I expect it will be bad, but we'll see. It will be satire rich times.

This was beautiful Jan. I love how you brought that tree to life by giving it a personality. I also love the way she looked at the seasons and how you used her leaves as clothing. This was really cool.
