Beat Slowly

Beat slowly Ever so slowly Oh tender heart For he is going to come The sun is out Ever so early The clouds parting To let the rays come thru Beat slowly Ever so slowly Oh expectant heart For he is going to come The wind is blowing Ever so gently Bringing the smell Of his warm body Beat slowly Ever so slowly My frantic heart For he is going to come Flowers have bloomed Ever so tenderly Ready to Adorn my hair Beat slowly Ever so slowly My patient heart He is going to come The diamond is shining Ever so enticingly Against my breast To be touched by his lips Beat slowly Ever so slowly Oh loving heart For he is going to come My breath has stopped My body still For there I hear His approaching steps Beat fast Ever so fast Oh my waiting heart For he has come

wow. you had me worried for a minute that he was not going to show up. great poem. you had my attention from start to finish. i love the breaks. they allow the rhythm to flow perfectly. thank you for sharing this with us.
