Ballerina

I am a ballerina today Dancing my heart away The melody plays soft in my mind Such fluid joy I find My arms, I hold high above my head On tiptoes light, I tread My gossamer skirt swirls in mid-air As I twirl in full flair My heart feels every fluent motion Such intense emotion I let it flow through my nimble limbs My excited head swims I am a ballerina today Join me in my ballet 11.29.2021 Syllable count: 9.6

Beautiful flowing poem Jo. I love the ballet. My Aunt and Uncle both danced with the New York Metropolitain Ballet and then opened their studio in their home state of Texas. Bill

Jo, I loved ballet and have penned poems about it. Lying here with a broken, thigh, a rebuilt knee joint, your poem was soothing. I was watching Nureyev on You Tube...wow... Panagiota

You can be a ballerina everyday when you write with such beautiful expressions as you did in this poem. It's as fluidly artistic as any dance, Jo.
