My father hung a swing from the old oak tree,
a present for his grand kids to enjoy.
The swing was such a pleasant sight to see
and was my children’s best loved, cherished toy.
A present for his grand kids to enjoy,
it's weathered with the time and shows its age
and was my children’s best loved cherished toy
when they were at the backyard swinging stage.
Its weathered with the time and shows its age,
still holding many memories within
when they were at the backyard swinging stage
and I still hear the laughter see the grins.
Still holding many memories within
I think back on the days that long since passed
and I still hear the laughter see the grins.
If you could only cause good times to last.
I think back on the days that long since passed.
The swing was such a pleasant sight to see.
If you could only cause good times to last.
My father hung a swing from the old oak tree.
