Backyard Entertainers

A yellow finch chirps a sweet melody As black-capped chickadees steal the show A blue jay circles in the air for food Robins in the grass finding worms for food As a red cardinal sings his loud mating melody I watch out the window enjoying the show Two hummingbirds at the feeder, putting on a show Fighting until they stop to perch while sipping liquid food Crows appear, cackling and squawking their own melody I enjoy hearing the melody of birds while watching them put on a show searching for food. 2/15/19

Great to see your poem on birds, Tania. I watched a show like this at my inlaws, when they lived in Kentucky. It truly is quite the show. Congrats on your win.

With all the different chirping and bird moods...a backyard entertainer like me would have to sing for my food...great imaginative one

Sounds like my backyard - add some squirrels and doves. Wish I could keep bees out of the hummingbird feeder. Love the way you wrote this.
