Baby love So ready to play Trumpets happy attitude Mother not far off Ready to rescue If he gets into any trouble There are dangers A lion maybe She lets him think he's independent Keeping close enough to save him At the first sign of danger Baby elephant plays Unaware Delighted he is free

Hi Caren, such a delightful poem Elephants are my favorites out of the big five. Being a matriarchal driven society all the female cows look after the babies, they are all nannys! This baby looks adorable and to think that hundreds are left orphans because their parents are killed for their tusks and they are rescued as there is a special group that are unpaid and dedicated to saving baby elephants, A beautiful poem.
