Baby It Is Cold Outside

I can hear the mouthless wind
loudly howling outside my window
Its wingless unseeable form whipping through
 the leafless trees
riding the branches wildly
And blowing falling flakes onto every available space
and covering them in white giving them
   admirable shapes

Oh yes indeed
what a magical sight to gaze upon
And although I happily enjoyed watching the snow soundlessly gliding down
kissing the ground softly and forming beautiful landscapes
The harshness wind is toothlessly bitting through my bones with its frigidness

So I think it’s time to turn up the fireplace for some heat for my chilly bones
And maybe a cup of delicious hot cocoa to warm my soul

Because
baby it is cold outside

Nothing like a good cup of hot chocolate when the wind is howling and baby it's cold outside. I enjoyed your poem. Winter is coming. Have a day filled with warm thoughts, Akkina. A poet friend in Texas, Bill

Great write Akkina. It transported me to where you are. I felt I was in New York at your house and watching it all from windows. In India we enjoy winter with hot ginger tea to warm us up. Where I stay no snowfall, but cold winds blow at times hand become numb. Enjoy your holiday. Take care Rama

- A very cold winter this year, Akkina ... I usually go for a walk at midnight with my dogs ... but not the last few weeks ... it's too cold for both humans and animals - A lovely poem, my friend :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

You are brave to go walking at midnight my friend. But maybe your town is peaceful and safe so that’s wonderful. And yes, it’s been nice and very cold which is naturally good I guess :)

Hi Akkina, You penned a well-written winter poem. Your descriptions were so vivid and clear. It is as though I can hear ole man Winter whistling a tune. It's best to get inside and turn up the heat in fireplace and get hot cocoa with marshmallows ( if you like them). I enjoyed the read:-) Alexis

Another lovely write with your magical words that just flow straight from your heart... Kina. Is it still cold there in your place? Here in India, specially in my place we never experience extreme cold. Your description in first stanza is amazing. Hope you relished your hot cocoa. Enjoy your day dear... Hugs ~ Ani
