Babies Had To Learn To Be Selfish
Babies Had to Learn to Be Selfish
Self preservation
Toddlers feeding themselves
Hoarding food
For parents are glued to I-pads and TV sets
Computer screens are taking their attention
They do not eat themselves,
Do not realize toddlers need food
Let alone attention which they resent giving to them
Babies were supposed to be babies always
Not growing up and learning to walk
Not developing appetites
Not taking all of this time
So babies had to learn to be selfish
Selfishly hiding the crackers, before they were all eaten
Selfishly putting their juice sippy cups into low places
So they could get them out when they got thirsty
Because parents are busy with their flat screens
On their laps and in their walls
Babies had to learn to be selfish for self-preservation
And to survive
