I have a simple way of writing verse. I sit and I wait for the words to come.

By this simple way, I have been able to write all sorts of verse, from couplets and quatrains to sonnets and odes, from free verse and haiku to alliterative verse and acrostics, and poems that pique my fancy.

I have pushed myself to write every day. Sometimes 10 poems and at least a bare minimum of one.

Lately, I have been feeling a bit "Under-the-Weather" with the flu bug and a bad cough. So, I have lapsed a few days without any real poetic output.

My PoetrySoup friend, James Horn wrote me a note to tell me that I should write about why I am away and perhaps pen a poem about my absence. Here then, is the result of his timely suggestion. Thank you, Jim.

Hope this note gives you, dear reader friend, a glimpse of how I feel. All my best wishes then, Leon.

Words fade away... Not much to say, Works find new play, Greet thus strange day. Poise frames odd show... Style mutes old glow, Choice in non-flow, Meet what I know. Verse in a lull... Words feel lot dull, Lines I now mull, Odd touch now culls. Swing by the gate... Odd lot feels late, An empty plate, Verse in blink fate. So late this day... When night blooms say, As new words play, Glimpse a crisp way. Leon Enriquez 25 November 2017 Singapore
