Hidden longings
Suppressed fears
Appear before us
Wherein the test
Is heart’s response
Bereft of free will
Our reflex instinct
Provides impetus
To karmic residue
Within the dream
Innate aliveness
Always in motion
Although in trance
Seeks expansion
Of fellow brethren
Fear and desire
Do thus interplay
Woven together
Until cessation
Enlivens the void
We then awake
