This is really peaceful and vivid! I love how you capture that quiet, refreshing feeling of autumn after a harsh summer. The imagery of the elm-shrouded bench is especially nice — it feels like a perfect little retreat in the park. Short but really atmospheric.

I'd love to sit on the bench with the Lark "cool shade for the lark" my favorite line. The heat in the Northeast is has been quite something. A nice read I am happy to come across.

A bucolic ode to fall where days are coolened and a bench is inviting. Charmed!
