Autumn Feathers

Feathers amongst fallen leaves Spring plumage drops from the sky Blue Jays in cobalt feathers Proudly perched near drab fall hues Goldfinches in olive green Camouflaged on sparse branches Raptors hungry and hunting Autumn feathers masked from sight Cardinals perched on red fronds Their mates near singing away Crisp crimson and yellow leaves Now blanket sparse sleepy wood Hidden owls hoot in the dark Their nightly quest soon begins In dark brown feathers they soar Hoping to find their night prize

This is such a delightful poem Tania... ! The flock of birds of different category and their molted feathers add to the beauty of the fallen leaves of autumn. A beautifully constructed poem that I enjoyed much.

Tania, this is keenly written by interspersing leaves and feathers. I've never thought of them as both falling, but it works perfectly in your poem.
