Congratulations on your trophy win, Ghairo, with this superb jueju. You honoured progression of the wide lens view in the first instance with the concrete image in the second line, drawing the reader close as the poem progresses; culminating in ‘wind whisking tweedy jacket / warming trial - damp boot days’: an excellent example of a subtle enjambment leading the reader to the climax of a personal introspection in the final 3-syllable phrase - the damp boots symbolism. This final phrase after the caesura (pause) is tactile, and successfully draws on the imagery exploited in the first line.
