Atlantic City Revisited
Atlantic City
on the shore of New Jersey.
Where many people
attempt the improbable.
They’re hoping to win
and leave the place with a grin.
Much to their chagrin,
everything they bring, they lose.
They’re sorry they choose
such a place to vacation.
With consternation,
they wonder why they all came.
It’s just like setting a flame
to all their hard-earned money.
The land of milk and honey
does not appear very sweet.
But history will repeat
when they return for defeat.
