As We Sail Our Ships In Waters Profound

As We Sail Our Ships In Waters Profound As we sail our ships in waters profound With daily chores, our dreams far oft in flight Consider planted deep, silent in ground Seeds of discord, awaiting dark of night. Upon storming seas prone to wreck and churn Ship heaving its precious cargo about If we survive, each time this we should learn Truest of kind hearts live within and without. Should we find we desire paradise shores Set sails to full mast, stars be our true guide Perform fullest, even our daily chores Do not allow darkness a place to hide. If wisdom allowed treasured goal we reach Share with others, in poetic words teach. Robert J. Lindley, 7-26-2017 Sonnet, ( A kind and giving heart is its own reward)

Sound advice in this lovely sonnet Robert. I love the turn in the third stanza and your summary couplet is profound indeed. - Dean
