*Hurricane Irma
As the waves calm, water slowly recedes
The storm travels on, after causing havoc
Prayers 'answered' now remain, for lives saved
As the sun tries to shine again, upon the land
Where people ran from nature or chose to stay
As the waves calm, some tears do still fall
Instead of rain, into puddles on the street
Around broken pieces of things that remain
Everyone stops to think about, what was lost
--- Or what was not ---
