Are the "missing" Linked?

Tibetan monks share legend-colored reports
Taking wide-eyed listeners from valley floors

To peaks in the sentinel Himalayas
So how could such holy men’s tales betray us

A dark, furry creature’s outline has been seen
Startling climbers on mountains so serene

Leaving bipedal footprints on pristine snow
Stumping searchers who try to learn where they go

Yeti, the not-so-abominable snowman
Much maligned being of God’s creative hand

Never attacks, just appears and quickly flees
Allowing sighters to suspect what they please

Howling in the pain of loss from lofty peaks
Perhaps for a missing cousin Yeti seeks

One who traversed a lost land bridge from Asia
Then made his way south from the Arctic Tundra

To explore lush forests now U.S. Northwest
Where for centuries Bigfoot has done his best

To elude capture by settlers and hunters
     And scoff at ever-hopeful photographers

Publicized encounters with both have been made
But only footprints, blurry photos remain

Of man’s intriguing, unevolved ancestors
     Scientists think they’re human predecessors

But their imprints on Earth have been minimal
Never chopping trees or scarring pinnacles

They’ve reason to hide from creatures who pollute
Posing threats to life by developing nukes

Perhaps these "beasts" we should emulate
Learn from our ancestors before it’s too late

Greetings, Carolyn. Congratulations on your poem being featured this week. I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Your wise words can teach Humanity a lesson. We live in a very dangerous time and powerful nations are arming themselves to their teeth to launch their nukes and start World III. I trust in God's word that the Earth will stand forever and He will stop those who threaten His beautiful creation. I wish you a Happy Holiday Season. May God watch over you always. Hugs, Andrew.

Ah, the mysteries of life. Congrats on the selection. Latest - had a little stroke day after Thanksgiving. I'm better now, but missed talking to you after the Ohio State, MSU game. I won't be getting on the internet for a bit though. We lost the game, but wasn't i a great game. Love, daver

Carolyn, I love this poem and it's attention to the reality that man has basically plundered the earth instead of replenishing it as instructed by the Creator. Now, we ask for His help so we can survive without killing ourselves off in the process of advancment. You're right. One thing for sure, the yeti and Big foot creatures will have their survival skills well tuned when the time to survive begins... If and when. Keep those poems coming!!! Lovingly, Dane

You're so right, Caroly, I do hope that Yetis and Bigfoots exist and if the exist, they do well to hide themselves. I like your Couplet a hommage to all different creatures. Love, Gert
