April Dream
Serenading spring is wafting in April air
I hear the southern wind gently whisper
to the sinking sun as it sets fire in the sky
the ambiance can’t be any time so alluring.
Morning mist caresses the verdant lawn with dew
the sleeping blades of grass wake up at its touch
the bowl of the seamless sky is filled with ink
trees watch the sprouting leaves display satin faces.
Colors explode on the unfurled petals of flowers
on the canvas of meadow God's palette spills over
butterflies flitter on the flashing tapestry of splendor
the rhapsody of hues from the painting they borrow.
I’ve reached you through the haze of winter frost
my frozen heart has melted into a longing lake
floating on its waves of spring you’ve arrived
in your eyes I see the dance of dreams.
