The sweet, small, clumsy feet of April came into the ragged meadow of my soul ~ e.e. cummings
April falls across my life
Caressing my mind with whispers
Of winds so sweet and soft
They echo on my thoughts like a song
Music to my secret yearnings,
Laughing hopes and silence
Breathing light into the pores
Naked emotions hold me up
Touching broken words, poetry
That rhymes with all I know
The stanzas that flow well into
A night of color, hues of compassion
April lends me the warmth
Of moon and stars twinkling
Rich and vibrant, healing every fear
With a sense of compassion
That brings with it inspiration
Spiritual blessings, lavish and loving
Sentient like grace, never failing
The melody of hope and faith
Cascade, pounding like alive raindrops
Mothering the sprouts and pods
With sunshine soothing and feelings
So alive they tremble with intensity
April leaves me knowing I am loved
By a God more wise than I could think of
Kind in a way that makes me inhale deeply
Relief from grief and comfort from a past
That has been wintery cold, chilling me
To the bone, leaving my hopes frozen
With the rays of this springlike blurring
There is a certainty that I am loved
Like prayers that linger on the tongue
A knowing remains inside my soul as I go
From the ending of freezing moments
To warm and heartening promises for today
April creates a praise inside the soul
Which dreams, frees, completes
Tells the heart to believe and achieve
All that it has been put here for
The blessings that claim life is more
Than a mere smile at the moon and stars
