Anxiety

I step into a busy city And suddenly the world is is a shrinking box The sun swells infinitely, Drenching my body in a cold sweat My hands shake My fingertips go numb my knees become rattling spoons My throat a voiceless desert My chest becomes a hollow auditorium The sound of my heart racing echoes off the walls, Bellowing in in my bones Taking refuge in my ears, blocking every thought I am frozen in place Gasping and choking Trying to breathe But not quite breathing I try to stay, But in one single moment, I am gone for good.
