Another Shot of Pride

People come and go, sometimes we're forced to say goodbye
I gave you my all and it wasn't enough, a part of me died
I gave my heart to you and you shattered it, is that considered murder or suicide?
I was forced to swallow another shot of pride

I treated many girls wrong, but with you I gave my all
Sent good morning texts, gave you all my time, effort and love I provided you a safe place to fall
I tried to move the bricks, but I guess you didn't want me to break your wall
Maybe I moved too fast, and you had to make it stall

If you didn't want us, why couldn't you just be honest in the first place?
I gave you my heart in the best condition, you left it in the worst state
I put you above all
I've forced my heart to think I don't care, but I'd say I miss you, if you'd just call

I always had to say it if I thought it
I'm trying to fast forward past this, but life has paused it
Sometimes you have to just accept it, and not worry about what Caused it
But i still wish you'd tell me what I fell Short with

I Used my head, but planned wrong
I've always been the type to move my Foot first, even when I don't have a leg to stand on
But If you'd have been honest from the start it would have been best
This was one rare time, where this Prince deserved better than the princess

People come and go, sometimes we're forced to say goodbye
I gave you my all and it wasn't enough, a part of me died
I gave my heart to you and you shattered it, is that considered murder or suicide?
I was forced to swallow another shot of pride
